Catching up on recent activity!

Well, there's been a lot of activity since the last post. We have been posting to the club's Facebook page, but I'll try and recap a bit here.

Over the summer we sailed a number of times at various lots around town. Mostly just ripping around for fun.

We had five blokarts at the 4-Lakes Iceboat Club's picnic in early October and got a number of people out sailing and racing for the first time:

I'd scouted out a large lot at the defunct Lake Geneva Kennel Club near Delavan, WI. On the way home from the Skeeter Ice Boat Club's swap meet in Williams Bay a couple of us stopped by and sailed around for a couple of hours. The lot is huge with just light-posts as obstacles:

We went back a couple of more times. On Nov. 6th we set a long windward-leeward course and ran a number of races. I recorded a number of GPS tracks for the races, and sailing a slightly shorted course after I switched up to my 4.0m sail:

 

On Nov. 14th we had a record turn-out of seven racers at a local technical college parking lot. It was a tough course with some islands and trees at the windward end and very gusty winds:

A couple of weeks later, we had five six racers and five karts show up for racing at a lot on the west-side of Madison. This lot is really nice because it relatively large and has no obstructions:
